Abdulfazl Mukumov
Abdulfazl Mukumov was born and spent most of his life in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. He has lived in Buffalo since 2022. Abdulfazl is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
Abdulfazl is a recipient of the Grace W. Capen Award and an EOP Distinguished Scholar. He is actively involved in his professional affiliations, serving as the UB Investment Club Vice-President. In addition to academic endeavors, he is an entrepreneur – operating his own travel agency – Al Burhaan Tours LLC. This firsthand experience in small business operations has equipped him with invaluable insights into customer relations and the tourism industry, and contributes to the local economy by promoting travel and tourism in the region.
Looking towards the immediate future, Abdulfazl is determined to secure a full-time position in an investment firm, leveraging his expertise to foster economic growth and prosperity in Western New York. As part of his overarching plan, Abdulfazl aims to help eliminate some of the negative consequences of residential segregation by promoting economic and social investment from companies to invest in traditionally economically disadvantaged areas. His vision extends beyond conventional boundaries as he plans to expand Al Burhaan Tours by fostering cultural exchanges and awareness within the region. This combined strategy not only aims to generate job opportunities in key sectors but also opens new avenues for foreign countries to invest in Western New York, creating a mutually beneficial relationship.
Abdulfazl’s leadership experiences as a Teaching Assistant and Assistant of Gym Manager at Campus Living Res Fit have sharpened his leadership skills and will help him achieve his plans. Moreover, volunteer work with UNICEF and participation in the UN Sustainable Development Goals – Case Study in Costa Rica, reflect Abdulfazl’s dedication to social responsibility.
