Delaney McNulty

I am a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation. I am currently finishing my master’s degree in philosophy, where I have specialized in Cognitive Science, Applied Ethics, and Indigenous Philosophy. During my time at the University at Buffalo, I have restarted the Minorities and Philosophy chapter, where I currently serve as vice president; I am a graduate fellow in the Romanell Center for Medical Ethics and Philosophy of Medicine, and I serve as a mentor to undergraduate indigenous students through the Indigenous at UB program. I received the Pillar of Leadership award for my work as a student supervisor in the spring of 2023. I have also been honored to receive several scholarships, including the Buffalo Federation of Women’s Clubs Scholarship and the Hourani Memorial Scholarship for Clinical Ethics. I will start a Ph.D. in Indigenous studies in the fall, where my research focuses on cultural property, the right of destruction, and Indigenous philosophy of mind. After completing my degree, I hope to teach Indigenous philosophy at the collegiate level or work with government agencies like the Office of Indian Nation Affairs in New York to strengthen Indigenous identity and sovereignty.
