Emily Brooks
Emily Brooks, a native of Buffalo, NY, is a PhD candidate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. She is conducting research in the UB Orthopaedic Research Laboratory, where her work focuses on the electrochemical and biological characterization of magnesium alloys. Emily joined the Collaborative Learning and Integrated Mentoring in the Biosciences Program through a fellowship awarded by the Institute for Strategic Enhancement of Educational Diversity. She is a member of both the National Association of Corrosion Engineers and the Society for Biomaterials, and volunteers by teaching science to young students in the city of Buffalo.
