Jessica Shine
Jessica, a Williamsville native, recently graduated from Sienna College majoring in psychology with minors in health studies and sociology. While at Sienna, she was an active member of the division one swimming and diving team where she was voted team captain her senior year. Jessica was also involved in the Sienna College Wellness Center as a certified peer educator, the Academic Success Center as a psychology tutor, and the psychology department research center working as a research assistant. Additionally, Jessica is a member of the Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society and the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society.
Presently, Jessica is working towards obtaining her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling with the hope of becoming licensed in the state of New York by 2028. Jessica has previously worked as a behavioral health intern at Erie County Medical Center. She currently works for a local eating disorder center as the intake and discharge coordinator.
This past fall, she volunteered to coach her former high school swimming and diving teams to the New York State Championships. Her experiences in the fields of mental health and athletics have led to her desire to specialize in eating disorders and sports performance as a mental health counselor. In doing so, Jessica hopes to increase access to resources in these fields to help alleviate the current issue of the lack of providers in the Western New York area.
