Luley Osman
Luley Osman is a graduate student in Urban Planning at the University at Buffalo, specializing in public transportation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography with a concentration in International Trade, also from the University at Buffalo. Luley believes efficient transportation systems can transform cities and improve quality of life.
Luley has studied in London and will soon study in Japan and South Korea, focusing on global transit infrastructure and urban mobility. She will use insights from these international academic experiences to write a research article that highlights global transit innovations and how they could be adapted to meet the needs of a city like Buffalo. Her research interest include multimodal integration, transit equity, and the revitalization of mid-sized cities through sustainable infrastructure.
Luley is the recipient of the Graduate Opportunity Program Award and the Durand Scholarship. She also holds memberships in the American Planning Association (Student Chapter), the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA), and the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) as a student member.
With a strong foundation in global insights and local commitment, she is preparing to improve Buffalo’s transit system and broader urban development.
