Mekhi Edwards

Mekhi Edwards, a lifelong resident of Buffalo, New York, is a senior marketing major at Canisius University, set to graduate with his bachelor’s degree in May 2025. He will begin his MBA studies at Canisius in fall 2025, further expanding his knowledge in digital strategy, branding, and innovation.

Mekhi currently works as a Digital Marketing Specialist at Sprint Marketer, where he develops and executes data-driven marketing campaigns to help clients grow their digital presence. He also serves as the Marketing Manager for Buffalo Fashion Week, leading creative campaigns, managing a diverse marketing team, and building partnerships that highlight the local fashion and creative communities. Additionally, he is the first-ever teaching assistant for Canisius’ IMC Masterclass, where he mentors students as they design integrated campaigns for real-world businesses and nonprofits.

On campus, Mekhi is involved with the American Marketing Association (AMA) as the Vice President of Finance and is a recipient of the Say Yes Scholarship and the Western New York Prosperity Fellowship. Off campus, he is a board member for Future in Our Hands USA, where he supports marketing and fundraising efforts for sustainable development initiatives in Kenya and Zambia.

Mekhi also brings international business experience through his work as an Independent International Business Consultant with the X-Culture program, later advancing to become a Global Virtual Administrative Coach, supporting cross-cultural student teams on global expansion strategies.

As an independent photographer with over five years of experience, Mekhi has worked across fashion, events, and newborn photography for a professional studio. His creative work and entrepreneurial spirit were recognized with the Young Entrepreneur of Color Award.

With a strong foundation in marketing, entrepreneurship, and community engagement, Mekhi aspires to innovate the marketing space in Buffalo—bringing fresh ideas, storytelling, and impactful strategies that drive growth and opportunity for businesses and creatives alike.
