Preston Ross
Preston was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and moved to the Buffalo area to attend the Erie-2 Chautauqua BOCES Licensed Practical Nursing Program. After working in the field and discovering other areas of interest, Preston enrolled at Jamestown Community College where he graduated with his Associates Degree in Individual Studies with a focus in business management and political science. Upon graduation, Preston enrolled at Canisius College where he is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in political science.
Preston is involved with activities on campus, which includes his current role as a resident assistant, serving as secretary for Circle K, and was recently elected to be the vice president of finance for his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. For the past four months, Preston has interned for United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Preston was also selected to participate in the Fund for American Studies’ Business and Government Relations program this summer in Washington D.C. He will be taking classes at George Mason University and interning with Stateside Associates, a state government relations and lobbying firm.
Preston hopes to gain as many different experiences as he can so he can help facilitate economic and entrepreneurial growth for underrepresented communities. Following graduation, he plans to pursue a dual master’s of public administration and master’s of business administration degree.
