Sara Zielinski
Sara Zielinski, a Buffalo native, anticipates graduating from the University at Buffalo (UB) in May 2026 with a Master’s in Public Health. She is currently working in the School of Public Health and Health Professions, within the Department of Community Health and Health Behavior, as a research assistant. In this role, she supports the research team by recruiting participants and analyzing data.
During her undergraduate studies, Sara had the opportunity to study abroad in Athens, Greece. Through this experience, she gained insight into Greek culture and healthcare. Observing the differences between healthcare systems around the world sparked her interest in global health.
Previously, Sara worked at her undergraduate college’s Health Promotion Office, where she created social media content focused on health information and resources for the student body. She collaborated with various campus offices and organizations to organize monthly, in-person events that engaged students with health-related topics.
Through research, academics, and personal experiences, Sara developed a passion for understanding health inequities and promoting accessible healthcare for all. This passion drives her to make healthcare approachable and equitable across diverse communities. Growing up in the “City of Good Neighbors” continues to inspire her to support her community in any way she can.
Her future goals include creating a health literacy program to empower individuals and communities to take control of their health. Sara also aspires to continue her educational journey to strengthen her marketing and management skills. She hopes her knowledge, skills, and experiences will help increase healthcare access throughout Western New York.
