Talia Fuld

Talia Fuld is a Queens, New York native, studying biomedical engineering and public health at the University at Buffalo. Talia is also pursuing a master’s degree in business administration with the university’s 3+2 combined degree program.
Talia is passionate about researching and developing the future of medical devices within the Western New York community. She currently works for the University at Buffalo’s Information Technology Department and is a research support specialist at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Division of Behavioral Medicine. In this role, Talia supports a National Institutes of Health Clinical trial to manage chronic pain symptoms in patients with chronic pelvic pain. She manages cognitive behavioral therapy treatments, trial data and documents, recruitment sources and research. Through the UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Talia is also actively involved in innovating neurorehabilitation assistive systems. Currently, she and a team are creating a rehabilitation device to help stroke patients recover cognitive and motor functioning.
Talia was a recipient of UB’s Bauer Foundation Women in STEM and Engineering Award, and enjoys being an enthusiastic educator who is active with the local Buffalo community through UB’s Women in Science and Engineering program and STEM initiatives in schools. She shares her entrepreneurial ventures and competes at numerous events held by UB’s Startup and Innovation Collaboratory. She also loves to travel and bring her education and experience to new places. She previously led two medical internship programs, where she collaborated with a team to bring healthcare to low and middle-income families in Peru and Guatemala. Talia plans to continue her education, grow in her field, and support the WNY region.
