Tristan Spotts
Tristan, from Lake Placid, New York, is a joint major in Psychology and Spanish at the University at Buffalo and will graduate in May 2025. At UB, he has been involved in numerous organizations, including the professional environmental service fraternity Alpha Kappa Chi and the national psychological honor society Psi Chi.
Within Alpha Kappa Chi, Tristan oversaw fundraising and helped raise money for the fraternity through on-campus thrift sales, tabling events, and collaborations with local restaurants. As this is a service fraternity, he has also done countless clean- ups around Buffalo, helped with local organizations like Grassroots Gardens WNY, and volunteered as much as he can.
During his free time, he attends clubs such as Poetry Club, 411 Magazine Club, and Roundnet Club. Since fall 2024, Tristan has worked in the UB Behavioral Pharmacology Lab on the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. project, where he studies how much people vape and their vaping patterns. In addition, he also works as a server and host at a high-class bar located on Elmwood known as High Violet.
After his undergraduate career, he will be attending Canisius for his master’s in clinical mental health counseling and is still on the fence about whether he wants to pursue a PhD afterwards.
