Vanity Jones

Vanity is from Rochester, NY. She came to Buffalo in 2022 where she began to work in and learn more about domestic violence spaces. Since coming to Buffalo, Vanity has run a healthy relationships group, worked with RAHAMA, and interned at Haven House. Vanity’s passion is to help make space for Black women experiencing domestic violence, educate young women of color about healthy relationships and domestic violence, and provide resources for the youth and young adults to learn more about generational wealth and sexual health. Her research interests are domestic/teen dating violence and healthy relationships in the Black community, sexual assertiveness/health education, generational trauma, and generational wealth in the Black community. Vanity wants to one day have her own program that will encompass wealth and health education for young teens and adults, focusing on healthy relationships. mentorship, building generational wealth, and mental health. Currently, Vanity is in the dual Master of Social Work and Ph.D. program at the University at Buffalo. She will graduate with her Master’s in May of 2024, and continue with her Ph.D. in the Fall of 2024.
