Victoria Robbins
Victoria Robbins of Niskayuna, NY, is studying psychology and pursuing a pre-medical track at the University at Buffalo. As coder and research analyst at the Research Institute on Addictions in downtown Buffalo, Victoria is working with Dr. Rina Eiden on the Growing Up Healthy study to examine the prenatal and postnatal effects of cigarette exposure on children in the Western New York region. Through this research, Victoria is learning about the many difficulties women and their families face due to socioeconomic factors. Accordingly, she hopes to become a pediatric psychiatrist, helping children from at-risk families, and pursuing research that will better serve the area. Victoria completed her WNY Prosperity internship at Women and Children’s Hospital in their Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Center in the summer of 2014, and spent her time creating programs that assist families of children with ASD. Additionally, she is an executive board member for UB’s American Association of University Women chapter, and served as a team leader for the Alternative Break Trips to the Louisiana bayou and the Dominican Republic.
